Chalk this one up to “things we never want to see again.” This is, indeed, a Tesla Model S sporting a “screaming chicken” graphic pulled from a Pontiac Firebird.
Naturally, the photo showed up on Reddit’s “Sh*tty Car Mods” thread, and the internet has had a field day with the strange modification.
To start, the Model S does not have a massive V8 engine hiding under the hood, and the electric sedan shares absolutely nothing in common with the pony car of yore. To make matters worse, the owner has also installed a hood scoop to mimic the Firebird as well. We can’t quite make it out in the photo, but the scoops appears to read “TA” with an engine displacement. More confusion ensues.
That’s all we have to say about this strange modification. We’d certainly love to get inside the owner’s head.

In the owner’s defense, the Model S and Firebird do share some similarities. For example, both cars have wheels and windows…
Wow! Where is my sledgehammer, time to go to work on that monstrosity!
If imitation really is art, then this is really bullshit !
Hey – I’m a big fan of those old Firebirds…. however – as you probably know, those Tesla’s will smoke the baddest of those old firebirds…. just sayin”’ again — I’m the first in line for Firebird fans.
But they will never provide the sound of a Pontisc V8
I was thinking the same thing, this individual placed all of those extras on the hood but don’t have the sound output from the exhaust to match this appearance theme, that’s like putting on an exhaust pipe for Tesla’s All Electric Semi Truck.
Not if you challenged one to a NY to Long Beach Cannonball Baker style race! You’d be there in your Firebird when he was charging batteries somewhere in Nebraska!
Agreed – the Firebird would definitely out-distance them…. unless they setup quick-battery-change stations, similar to fuel stops…
“They see me tROLLing’, they hatin’”
A wannabe, and trying so hard too.
Not trying hard enough…It will never be as excellent as a Firebird !
