We’ve been keeping up with the “Field Prep: Corvette Build” series by Donut Media – you know, the one that was fitted with a Kelvar/Carbon body-kit – and the time has come for the folks at the Drift Cave to do the final install of the engine in Matt Field’s Spec-D Chevy C6 Corvette.
The powerhouse has finally arrived: a 427-cubic-inch aluminum RHS block with CBM Pro-X heads, fitted with a dry-sump oil pan. A whole load of other parts has come in, too, including breath-takingly awesome seats built by Cobra Motorsports out of the UK. The carbon seats were made-to-fit Matt and accommodate the low roof-line of the Corvette.
In addition to installing the engine itself, the guys take on the task of fitting other components, including the clutch, fuel line, fire-suppression line, and mounting for the rear differential. Hit play to see Matt Field and his crew get to work on the Falken-sponsored Corvette.
