Taking a new Chevy Silverado and making a retro Silverado Cheyenne appears to be what all the cool kids are doing nowadays, so we made one of our own based on the all-new 2019 Silverado.
We took a brand new 2019 Silverado 1500 in the LTZ trim, gave it a unique paint job with white stripes, black letters for the “Chevrolet” script on the tailgate, along with old-school steel wheels wrapped in BF Goodrich All Terrain tires.
The final result looks quite unique, and our favorite part is the prominent “CHEVROLET” lettering on the tailgate, which (as it turns out) looks great written in a color that contrasts the vehicle’s primary paint job.
Have a look for yourself and tell us your thoughts in the comments.

What about the Cheyenne from a couple years ago? The reg cab short box lowered one?
I like it. Honestly if they’d just give it a complete bumper and not have the fender drop all the way down into where the bumper should be, it would be the best looking truck they’ve had since the 67-72 model IMO. I loved the 14-15 square body throwback models but with the bumper/fender area fixed on the this, I’d love it more.
YES THOSE REAR BUMPERS MIGHT BE FUNCTIONAL BUT VERY UGLY. THE PAINT SCHEME LOOKS LIKE WHAT WE HAD YEARS AGO CODE #ZY4
My old 72′ had that paint scheme, and my 88′ still has its original paint in that scheme in silver and red, but will soon be getting a new two part paint scheme with red on the top from just below the sill line and dark granite gray on the bottom.
My old 68′ with that great body colored grille had competition orange for the body and grille with the front posts also orange, and a black roof and rear cab/posts, that was also a good color arrangement and it is used on my Miata with the exception that the front posts are also black along with the hard top.
PhotoShop is a fun way to play with car ideas. When I decided to build a 60′ Olds roadster from a 60′ Olds 4-dr hardtop, I used Photoshop to build the concept design. That project is now a roller and 95% done now, just needing the new Tri-Power engine and tranny installed with the shortened drive line, and upholstery and rugs.
A great looking truck. The last three models look fantastic and this new one does as well.
As a GMC Sierra owner myself, there’s nothing I would rather drive.
Now if we could only get reliable, smooth operating drivelines like were on the trucks of this era, without the disruptive multi speed transmissions and cylinder deactivation, a total blast from the past package could be created.
That is the most ridiculous idea that has ever been mentioned!!!!!!
Forget about how the 2019 Chevrolet Silverado Cheyenne may look like, what will be the Silverado Cheyenne’s base engine; a 5.3L V8 or the new L3B 2.7L DOHC-4v 4-cyl turbo.
Theres not enough pics, can we get more………?
Two tone paint jobs dont look very well! I say no
I would like it better if the top accent stripe went through the tailgate too and the CHEVROLET was centered in the tailgate.
In my opinion, the tailgate’ slab styling does nothing for me and needs some pizzazz
I’m holding out for a Scottsdale…….
dear GM, please make this and a Silverado SS
Nothing against a tu tone but stop trying to force the old paint layout on a new larger and different truck.
Do this right and give it is own look.
This is as bad as the local guy here with 57 fins painted on his Chevy SS. Two great cars but not merged.
This looks better than the two toned current version.
Better is not good enough.
Be original and make it right.
Nostalgia gets you so far but proper design and styling takes you to success other emulate.
Time to stop taking the easy way out and create a new classic others will try to copy in the future.
So yes it is better but still not good enough. You can’t tell me GM could not do better?
They offered two tone paint for decades on the trucks. Saying they shouldn’t offer two colors of simple paint is like saying they should stop painting the trucks just one color because they did it on the last model.
Matt if you note I did not say not to do tu tone I just thing the should be more original and better fit today’s truck.
GM in the past used various paint theses in tu tone. Anyone remember the Gentleman Jim or the various limited editions over the years.
My comment is more like if GM just kept building a 54 Chevy where would we be today if they had not done the all new 55 Chevy.
Use tu tone but be original about it.
wait, there is a Chevy SS sedan owner, with 57 fins painted on the car?
the recent Chevy SS from 2014-17 body style?
We have two here in Ohio. One the new SS and on the 90’s Impala.
Nice intent but Just not working.
I love the old two-tone paint schemes and would like to see them return. However, the only way this middle section two-tone would work is if the line where the paint colors met were to follow the upper and lower body lines of the truck. The arrow straight upper line in these renders would not be able to be achieved because the surface contours of the Silverado’s very sculptural sheet metal.
To work, following the upper body creases would be straight line from the tail lights moving forward to the door before dipping down into a check mark like shape on the door and then progress forward following the crease line accross the fender. If I knew a way to post an image on here I would sketch it out to better illustrate what I am attempting to convey, which is hard to express with words.
This looks goofy and contrived.
Living in the Past….
No.
I love two-tone trucks and GM always had the best patterns. This truck looks good two-tone though I do offer a couple suggestions. Narrow the width and curve the front back toward the wheel wells before going into that hideous looking front end! By doing this, you would take focus off that awful front end some! I wish some of Harley Earl’s off springs were at GM design these days!
The art of vehicle design for good looks is dead.
Sorry but it looks like not much thought really went into this design. Nope!
No!!!! Just no! That 2018 orange and white retro looking one that’s floating around on YouTube is perfect! Why does everything have to look like a ford?
The 2018 Chevy Cheyenne super 10 dual color orange and white! Please don’t play with me! Damn
