New Spy Shots Show 2019 GMC Sierra With Elevation Package: Photo Gallery

We’ve now seen many a trim level of the all-new 2019 GMC Sierra, including the Sierra base, Sierra SLE, Sierra AT4, Sierra SLT and Sierra Denali. The first two trims have yet to be officially announced and were caught undergoing testing just recently via spy shots, while the three latter trims were officially unveiled by GMC. And today, we have a 2019 Sierra sighting that we haven’t seen before.

This particular Sierra tester features very sparse amounts of camouflage, namely covering the grille along with the front and rear bumpers. The prototype is towing a boat while sporting black wheels, body-colored door handles, and what appears to be a removal of chromed exterior elements, save for the mirror caps.

All that reminds us of the K2-generation Sierra Elevation Edition, which for the 2018 model year was optional on the Sierra Base (1SA) Double Cab configuration and the Sierra SLE (3SA) Double Cab or Crew Cab configs, while offering the following unique content:

  • 20″ x 9″ black-painted aluminum wheels wrapped in P275/55R20 all-season blackwall tires
  • Body color accented grille surround
  • Front body-color bumper
  • Rear body-color bumper with corner steps
  • Black recovery hooks (on 2WD model)

Though we can’t see what’s behind the camo on the grille or bumpers, the Sierra tester appears to match up perfectly with each of the content pieces on the Sierra Elevation Edition, enabling us to conclude that what we’re looking at here is – in fact – the upcoming 2019 GMC Sierra with the Elevation Edition package.

  1. No fender engine badge on this truck ether. Likely the, or one of the, unannounced engine optionS
Rear end looks to have little squat with the boat on and no weight distribution hitch. Not a heavy boat by any means. Bow rider that size on trailer would be around or less than 3500lbs

    1. We can guess that it will be a 3.0TT or 3.6TT v6 or inline6. Will be exciting to see all the options soon.

      1. Inline 6? I wouldn’t be surprised to see the familiar 3.6 V6 if the 4.3 V6 isnt being carried over, but not an inline.. unless you’re referring to the I6 Duramax. Though I do agree a twin turbo V6 will likely be offered as well

  2. If the 6.2 is still going to be limited to higher trim levels, GM needs something between the 5.3 and the 6.2 that is available on all trims. I honestly don’t see a need for an engine between the 4.3 and the 5.3. I’ve driven both and while the 5.3 is more powerful, I don’t think the difference is large enough to warrant an engine in between.

I will say that the Sierra in these pictures looks really good. Definitely my favourite one that I’ve seen so far.

    1. I actually think the two choices for the big v8’s in the 5.3 and 6.2 are enough, albeit I would like to see the 6.2 offered in all trims. IMO, work trucks are the ones that the bigger engine choice; not the Denali that never sees a trailer or even a bed mattress in the bed. I’m not knocking Denali guys, I’d want the 6.2 if I was dropping $60k on a truck too. I had a base 2003 silverado that had the small 4.8 engine; it was bullet proof over the 280,000 miles that I put on it. My guess is that we already know about the premium engine choices already and engines for the lesser trim models are what we don’t know about. I can’t fanthom a 4 cylinder on a full size truck no matter its displacement,or number of turbos or super chargers that are on it.

      1. I haul with my Denali regularly. Trailers, bed full of top soil or rock. I also drive it to the office every day, church on Sunday, road trips and in the mud.
