The Tahoe has been quite the trooper for Chevy. In fact, Tahoe sales have grown healthily since the introduction of the current current, fourth-generation model. The 2019 model year, which will likely be the last model year of the current, fourth-generation Tahoe, will very likely be the last model year of the current-generation model, as the next-gen Tahoe is right around the corner… and that means just a few small updates for the 2019 MY Tahoe.
The 2019 Chevy Tahoe loses two exterior colors while gaining a new one:
Deleted Colors:
- Havana Metallic (deleted mid-2018 model year)
- Tungsten Metallic
New Colors:
- Shadow Gray Metallic
Like all other 2019 model year Chevy models with the Premier trim level, the 2019 Tahoe gets a new Premier badge on the tailgate.
Finally, the RST Edition is newly available in the new Shadow Gray Metallic color, while the LPO-level (dealer-installed) rear fascia closeout feature is now available with the following exterior colors:
- Silver Ice Metallic
- Summit White
- Black
- Iridescent Pearl Tricoat
- Shadow Gray Metallic
To note, the 2018 model year Tahoe offered the feature in conjunction with the following colors:
- Silver Ice Metallic
- Summit White
- Black
- Iridescent Pearl Tricoat
There are a few other changes for the Tahoe PPV (Police Pursuit Vehicle) and Tahoe SSV (Special Service Vehicle), which you can see at the 2019 Tahoe changes/updates link below.
About Chevrolet Tahoe
The Chevrolet Tahoe is a full-size Sport Utility Vehicle (SUV). It is currently Chevrolet’s second-biggest SUV, slotting under the extended-length and also full-size Chevrolet Suburban.
The current model was introduced for the 2015 model year and represents the fourth generation of the Tahoe nameplate. The model rides on the GMT-K2 platform shared with the Chevrolet Silverado, Chevrolet Suburban, GMC Sierra, GMC Yukon and Yukon XL as well as the Cadillac Escalade and Escalade ESV.
The 2018 Chevy Tahoe represents the fourth model year of the fourth-generation Tahoe. The vehicle remains highly competitive in its segment and the 2018 model year brings various improvements, most notably the Tahoe RST appearance package and Tahoe Performance Package with the 6.2L V-8 L86 engine.
The 219 Chevy Tahoe represents the fifth model year of the fourth-generation Tahoe, and offers up a new exterior color, a new Premier badge on the tailgate, and new color availability for the Tahoe RST as well as the rear-closeout feature.
The Chevrolet Tahoe is built at the GM Arlington factory in Texas operated by GM USA.

I hope we see spy shots of the next generation soon.
Me too. I’m sure it will be more evolutionary than revolutionary. But GM will need to step up the Escalade because of the new Navigator.
Ugly AF!
Dear Ms. Barra,
Please keep the good stuff on this all American Tahoe for 2020 but cut the nauseatingly lofty sticker prices way down to keep even those with solid incomes out of bankruptcy.
With gratitude,
