For the 26th year running, General Motors has recognized its top suppliers for quality and innovation. In total, GM handed out 136 awards across multiple categories.
Winners included 125 suppliers from 17 countries, with 16 first-time winners, as well as eleven companies who earned GM’s Innovation Award, Overdrive Award and Customer of the Year award.
“This is an opportunity for General Motors to honor those suppliers who are truly the best of the best,” said Steve Kiefer, GM Senior Vice President, Global Purchasing and Supply Chain. “The automotive industry is transforming at an incredible rate. The relationships we have with our supply base means everything when it comes to delivering a strong vehicle lineup today and the cutting-edge vehicles and mobility services of tomorrow.”
In particular, GM awarded Alps Electric, Czarnowski Display Services, Ushr Inc. and Nexteer Automotive the Innovation Award. The automaker recognized each company for their contributions in self-driving technology, digital fidelity matching technology, HD mapping for self-driving cars and an autonomous electric power steering system with a fail-safe backup for autonomous maneuvers.
GM selected each winner based on performance criteria in product purchasing, indirect purchasing, logistics, customer care and aftersales.
