If you’re familiar with YouTuber Street Speed 717, then you know he has a tendency to modify every car he gets his hands on, including his 2019 Chevrolet Corvette ZR1. In this video, we get to hear what his ZR1 sounds like before and after the installation of a cat-less X-pipe by Corsa Performance, and we also get to see what gains the Corvette picks up with the freer-flowing exhaust.
In regards to the exhaust note, the Corsa X-pipe certainly intensifies the supercharged LT5 V8’s roar, with more crackly, poppy goodness. Of course, even with the factory exhaust, the ZR1 sounds pretty gnarly, but you’ll never catch us saying no to a few more decibels.
In terms of performance, the Corvette ZR1 showed gains of 17-25 horsepower and 15-20 lb-ft of torque at the wheels. Keith from Keith’s Pit Stop says that even in less-than-optimal conditions, at least 10 more ponies and 10 more lb-ft of twist can be expected on the road. That’s impressive stuff, considering the X-pipe cost just $300.00.

The system eliminates two catalytic converters. They should have tried the factory set up without the cats. I believe it would be similar in power output.
Is this x pipe street legal, as you retain the front cats?
