Jay Leno, perhaps one of the world’s most famous auto enthusiasts, had quite a few good things to say about the 2019 C7 Corvette ZR1. Chevrolet’s supercar killer stopped into Jay Leno’s Garage for an episode to go over the car, learn about how the team accomplished its magnificent feats and learn more about the complementary track driving school.
It wasn’t Leno’s first time behind the wheel of a Corvette ZR1, though. Previously, the car guy/comedian hopped into the driver seat at the Milford Proving Ground for high-speed laps. Onboard was Tadge Juechter, Corvette chief engineer. Leno was able to top out at over 200 mph on the track.
On the street, Leno appears to fall in love all over again. And he specifically states his appreciation for the seven-speed manual transmission in the Yellow example on loan.
Before Leno combs over the car and hits the road, we also learn more about the two-day driving school that comes complimentary with any Corvette ZR1 purchase. Spring Mountain and Ron Fellows Performance Driving School will ensure all ZR1 drivers know how to handle their 755 horsepower Corvette with finesse. We don’t need to see any examples spinning out as a driver leaves a local cars and coffee.

I’d love to have one drop by my garage for comparison with my ’96 Grand sport and my ’18 CTS-V Championship Edition. I don’t think I would trade the ‘V for anything else, not even a ZR1! (I’m not too far from Jay Leno’s garage)
Another fastest lap récord, this time in Road Atlanta Randy Pobst at the wheel, 0,1 seconds faster than Viper ACR
JAY sure has the life
That’s how it is today, but when Jay was first starting out he slept many nights on the ground, in an alley behind a dumpster because he was flat broke and had no place place to go! I’ll guess that he, like many other successful folks has paid his dues and now entitled to the good life he enjoys today.
