Wood From Chevrolet Truck Plant Being Used For Detroit-Made Guitars

A new batch of Detroit-made guitars will feature extra special wood construction—material from the Fort Wayne, Indiana, Chevrolet and GMC truck plant.

Chevrolet and Wallace Guitars have teamed up to celebrate Chevrolet truck’s centennial with special guitars made from the wood. The limited-edition line of guitars will, specifically, be made from long grain maple.

Founder Mark Wallace said the wood was an attractive opportunity for a “company that honors the history of Detroit in every instrument we make,” in a Detroit Free Press report. Additionally, he said the particular maple provides a gorgeous sound for the guitars.

Details in the report were slim. It’s unclear when the guitars will be available and just how much they will cost. However, for a Chevy truck fan and guitarist, there’s likely no better tie-up.
