Things are shifting at Holden. Recently, the brand’s top marketing executive resigned his position, and the Australian subsidiary brought in a face dealerships had reportedly been lobbying for in Kristian Aquilina.
If Holden’s latest ad campaign is a sign of things to come, it’s a good thing. The brand announced the “Not To Be Outdone” ad campaign for its best-selling Holden Colorado. The ad spot will debut across Australia today, though it’s already up for viewing online.
The ad features a Colorado driver in a hotly contested sprint to reach higher points of altitude with… a goat. It’s humorous, and it also highlights the Colorado’s capability with scenes of off-road exploration. As the goat climbs higher, the Colorado follows suit in a race to the top. The ending is just as humorous.
It’s a departure from the heavy-hitting ZB Commodore ad spot that recently debuted, and the message is clear here: the Colorado will keep going. It also appears to house some of the same spirit Holden New Zealand ads have, which have launched under the direction of Aquilina. The executive has helped Holden stay at the top of sales charts in NZ, while Australian sales tumbled to the bottom.
Have a look at the ad for yourself up above.
