We’re likely months away from the 2019 Chevrolet Camaro‘s launch, but one model snuck into a local Michigan car gathering and surprised a group of attendees.
The YouTube video provides a quick walkaround of the 2019 Camaro SS, seen in gray, and it also gives us our first look at the car outside of professional press photos. While we do think the design is still somewhat controversial, it does appear to look better in the real world. That’s especially true of the rear taillights.
Aside from the revised design, not much else changes for the 2019 model year. On the mechanical side of things, the 2019 Camaro gains a 10-speed automatic transmission with a custom launch control and line-lock function. Otherwise, it’s the same tried-and-true 6.2-liter LT1 V8 engine providing power.
Outside of the Camaro SS, the rest of the nameplate’s range gets updated and tweaked styling, too. Notably, the 2019 model year also ushers in the Camaro Turbo 1LE with track-focused upgrades for the entry-level Camaro.
