Each year, Wards Auto names its 10 Best Interiors for the year, and for 2018, the 2018 Chevrolet Equinox made the cut.
The publication noted that many customers will end up with interiors that blend blacks, grays, or beige colors. However, an influx of color has been on the rise in the industry and the 2018 Equinox caters to those looking for extra pizazz.
Judges called the Equinox’s interior stylish and well-built with plenty of curves and angles to mix things up. In a segment full of utilitarian looks, the Equinox stood out. Furthermore, materials are high quality and judges continued to echo praise over the Equinox’s infotainment system and little technology surprises such as the heated and cooled seats, heated steering wheel, and 4G LTE Wi-Fi capability.
The Chevrolet Equinox was just one of two American vehicles to make the list. The other is the Ram 1500. It’s also worth noting that the praise for the Equinox comes at a price point that many consumers may not even consider when shopping the crossover—$36,375.

I thought Gm interiors were junk and cheap plastic and crap. Yea so either these guys are blind or the car mags and critics just hate GM. I’m going to say they just hate GM because the interior on my friends new Ridgeline isn’t any nicer than my 2016.5 cruze.
The seats are smaller than the previous gen ‘Nox. They are shorter (less thigh support) and narrower (too tight for many full size adults). Typical of GM (and others as well) , they tell you how great the “new one” is, but the reality is not so great for something as basic as the seats. The newest Cruze is the same way, very poor seats vs the previous gen.
Lol, does “too tight for many full size adults”, actually mean…Fat A$$’s? ROFLMAO….
Sorry there’s no sofa or recliner for you yet or perhaps you remeBeer… the days of Cadillac old? Butt, hey, lol, autonomous vehicles may change that just for you… 😉
Sorry, Butt, you left your @$$ open for that…lol…while I’m spitting up Beer through my nose….
Glad you got a chuckle, rolled and spewed beer. The really funny thing is……my fat a$$ fits comfortably in the seats of the last gen ‘Nox (logged more than 10K in those) and newest CR-V (2500+ miles and counting). So far I’ve driven the ’18 ‘Nox about 500-600 miles and it’s the worst of the 3 by far.
No offense intended and I do value your opinion as an owner.
US automakers do horrible interiors. Malibu was such a let down, nearly as bad as Fusion. FCA, even the Chrysler 200 and Dart, were exceptional, totally unlike Detroit rivals.
To each their own. the dash in the dart and Chrysler 200 look like cheap shinny plastic. Give me a break. All the materials on mainstream cars are all the same. They may look different and people don’t like them. I have friend who makes the molds and plastic. He flat out said they are all the same. Just different designs. Some fit better than others, but material wise its all very similar.
I had both cruzes a 2011 ltz and 2016.5 Premier RS and the seats are way better in the new one. They are softer and more comfortable.
Like everyone else on this site, we all judge our friends cars interior to ours. Many of my work colleagues have imports from the east and west and I see a difference in materials only on the 60k and above. As for road noise, some imports are louder at those prices. IMO, biased to imports which marketing has hypnotize the sheep I mean people. Example; zero gravity seats…..
My wife has 2017 Impala Premier and it’s very hard to beat. In fact, Toyota and Honda owners were very impressed. My wife takes turn driving with a group of employees and they like my wife’s Implala. One has a 2017 Accord and 2017 Avalon.
I have 09 Colorado w/leather and v8 and very surprised people think it’s nice… these guys would tell me if it stinks in a heart beat….
Albeit, GM could have shared the big trucks and or the Tahoe interiors instead of the cheap interior they gave the Colorado. Still mad. But i wanted a v8.
Glad to Chevy on the list. Way to go.
It just comes down to the fact that people complain way to much. They act like these cars and trucks built for them and only them not realizing that these vehicles have to be built for everybody’s taste, size, and use! They think that if the car has one thing about it they dont like then the car or truck is a failure. Which is completely wrong!
What’s this supposed to mean?:
