Teenager Crashes Chevy Equinox Into Exam Station During Driving Test: Accident Watch

Obtaining a driver’s license is an exciting time, but nerves can proliferate on the exam day. For one 17-year-old girl, she’ll probably take some time off from the whole ordeal.

Click on Detroit reported that the girl crashed into the exam station’s office in Buffalo, Minnesota, after she put the car in “Drive” instead of “Reverse.” The Chevrolet Equinox she was attempting the exam in jumped the curb and smashed through the wall of the office. The 17-year-old was unharmed and the 60-year-old examiner was taken to the hospital for non-life-threatening injuries.

According to the report, no one is pressing charges. However, we’d venture to guess the teen will choose a different exam station the next time she attempts her driver’s license test. Thankfully, no one was seriously hurt.

  1. Leave this poor kid alone. She has been blasted all over the web for the last week.

Just be glad we have a kid wanting to get a license to drive in this day and age most just want to stay home and text.

  2. My thoughts exactly, Scott.

It happens. Accidents happen to the most experienced drivers. She’s learning. How quickly we forget our first drive behind the wheel. instead, this is plastered on every news outlet for morons to pick and make fun of her.

Did it make it here because she was driving a Chevy? Are you going to post every accident that happens in this country involving a GM vehicle now?

  3. I failed my first driving test, and teenage hormones made me feel like the entire universe had rejected me.

Unfortunately, given how mass media today wants instant market and demographic saturation to keep the attention of eyes for as long as possible, stories like this would haunt a teenager for life and perhaps permanently cripple their self esteem.

I don’t think I’d want to be a teenager nowadays for the ease at which some of the stupid things teenagers do can become a sensationalized filler piece for a low-rent blog or local news affiliate.

  4. Pass my first test, didn’t get a ticket until I was 22 I think (somewhere around there). I have only had 4 or 5 tickets my entire life. Didn’t get into a accident until I was around 25. (Their fault)

Point is some people gravate to driving and are good at it from the start others struggle. People like me really pay because the insurance industry requires everybody to have insurance!

  5. Accidents do happen but…this type of boo boo is definitely one to get you teased forever.
One would think their child would’ve had enough seat time to know where they put the gear selector before slamming on the gas. That Equinox had to have quite a bit of momentum to make it through that wall. Haha

  6. Social media is a cancer; this is just one example of many. One young lady taking her drivers test is nervous and wants to do her best and made a mistake. I was 17 a long time ago, never made a mistake, nope, not one (that’s sarcasm btw). Give the young lady a break, and provide positive feedback. We can all look at the negatives, oh. my. gosh. someone could have been on that sidewalk, well they weren’t. It was an accident nothing more, nothing less. I don’t know the driver, but if I did I would give her a hug and help her pass her drivers test next time.

Social media is a negative cancer. Try to keep it positive.
