Chevrolet Tops Comerica Park Fountain With Colorado ZR2, Traverse For 2018 MLB Season

Once again, Chevrolet crowned the Comerica Park fountain with a set of new Chevy vehicles. This year, it’s a 2018 Chevrolet Colorado ZR2 and a 2018 Chevrolet Traverse as the brand marks nine straight years of sponsoring the fountain.

“This year, we have chosen to display the all-new Traverse High Country and the Colorado ZR2 because they are among the most versatile and capable vehicles in the Chevrolet lineup and we know that they are tough enough to withstand the unpredictable Michigan weather,” Paul Edwards, U.S. vice president, Chevrolet Marketing, said.

The brand is keen to point out nothing special has been done to prepare the vehicles for their exposure to the elements. Each Chevy car, crossover, SUV and truck spends 200 hours in a Climatic Wind Tunnel to simulate extreme weather. Michigan’s cold temps, humid-hot days and rain will be no match for the 2018 Colorado ZR2 and Traverse.

Ahead of opening day at Comerica, Chevrolet also announced its support for the “Play Ball: Baseball at the DIA” exhibit. The Detroit Institute of Arts will hold the special exhibit, which includes vintage memorabilia and other historic baseball pieces, beginning on March 29.

Chevrolet also remains the official vehicle of Major League Baseball.
