Pedestrian Throws Himself Into GM Cruise Self-Driving Car

We suppose self-driving car road rage was bound to happen in this brave new world. Curbed reported last month that a pedestrian threw himself into a General Motors Cruise AV self-driving car and apparently attacked the vehicle.

It’s unclear why the pedestrian decided to attack the car, but the Cruise report filed with the California DMV said the man ran into the street and “shouting… struck the left side of the Cruise AV’s rear bumper and hatch with his entire body.” The entire incident occurred while the self-driving car sat at a traffic signal waiting for pedestrians to cross in the crosswalk.

The human driver inside the car said the Cruise AV experienced some minor damage to its rear light. According to the report, no witnesses called the police and the man hasn’t been found or identified.

You can take the human out of the driver’s seat, but you can’t take the unexplainable rage out of others.
