Now that Holden has turned from manufacturer to importer, we’d imagine values of classic cars from the brands will slowly be on the rise. But does a collection of 11 Holden Premiers warrant $1 million AUD?
One Australian man has posted his entire collection of Holden Premiers for sale, according to a Hemmings report, after he spent years collecting one from each model year. The Premier was built from 1962 to 1980 and represented a more premium car over a base Holden Special or Kingswood. Notably, from 1968 onward, Premiers donned quad headlights to distinguish them from the Kingswood.
Although the cars appear well-maintained, they’re not exactly pristine. One of the Premiers, a 1977 model year, shows almost 231,000 kilometers on the odometer, which is around 143,000 miles.
It’s an impressive collection, but the man is missing various body styles of Premier from over the decades.
Still, we commend the individual for putting together a noteworthy collection. We’ll be curious to see if someone ponies up the $1 million AUD, about $783,000 USD, for the cars.
Comments
Only bodystyles the Premier was available in were sedans and wagons. Yes, there aren’t many wagons in this collections, but it’s still not that bad.
$1M? Seriously?? Maybe if they were all in Concours condition, and were all equipped with 308 cu in V8s, then $500,000-600,000.
Interesting to see what they get on the day. The old man had an HZ Premier stationwagon with the V8 in it. He saw it in the local car trader rag for $16,500 with 280000 miles on the odo, reconditioned block (w/2800 miles), new upholstery, new paint, new tyres etc.
