The GM Authority Take
The Tahoe’s January sales performance was quite impressive, as the full-size SUV posted the highest percentage increase in its segment and remained the undisputed sales leader in its segment.
The Ford Expedition stepped up to second place in its segment (see Ford Expedition sales). Notably, Expedition sales figures include the regular-length Expedition and the extended-length Expedition L. As such, the Tahoe competes with the regular-length Expedition, while the larger Suburban competes with the extended-length Expedition L. The Tahoe’s platform mate – the GMC Yukon (see GMC Yukon sales) came in third place. The Nissan Armada was fourth, recording a 17 percent sales increase – and being the only other vehicle in the class besides the Tahoe to post a sales increase. The Toyota Sequoia brought up the tail end of the segment in fifth place.
Impressively, the Tahoe accounted for 30 percent of the segment’s sales volume in January, while the Tahoe and Suburban accounted for a combined 53 percent share. GM’s Chevrolet and GMC entrants ran away with a combined 16,832 sales of the segment, or a 71.8 percent segment share.

Damn, the amount of SUV’s GM sells is astonishing. Cash Cows! We love ours!
By my math calculations GM had 71.8% segment share. Correct me if I’m wrong.
You’re correct.
