2019 Silverado Double Cab: Photo Gallery

Last month’s debut of all-new 2019 Silverado 1500 has brought along a significant amount of information about the new half-ton pickup. But most of that material has been focused on the Crew Cab style, leaving the smaller 2019 Silverado Double Cab model in the shadows. So, we thought it a good idea to show you our photo gallery of the Double Cab model – straight from the floor of the 2018 North American International Auto Show in Detroit.

Prior to the K2 generation Silverado, the Double Cab was officially known as the Extended Cab and featured rear doors hinged at the rear. Those were replaced with a set of regular, front-hinged doors on the K2 platform Silverado, and all-new 2019 Silverado on the T1 platform continues that trend.

Since we don’t have full specs on the 2019 Silverado just yet, we don’t know whether the 2019 Silverado Double Cab has more space than the same cab on the model it replaces. However, seeing that the Crew Cab model has three inches more legroom in the second row compared to the model it replaces, it wouldn’t be a big stretch to imagine that the Double Cab model will also be more spacious. We expect to know the complete details on the 2019 Silverado after GMC announces its all-new 2019 Sierra on March 1. Until then, stay tuned to GM Authority for around-the-clock Silverado news coverage.

  1. Still the ugliest truck that has ever come out of GM. I was actually looking at switching my 2015 2500 for a new body style but after seeing this monstrously no way, not a diesel, not a 10 speed, not a rear seat cubby would have inticed me rhis thing is ugly as funk.

    1. Luckily, the rest of the world doesn’t share your opinion on the design 😉

    2. We found the guy who doesn’t need a truck and only buys one for the “tough cool” image they portray. Looks shouldn’t even be on the radar, abilities, price, options, capability, ect all should be. I bet you are the same guy complaining about the lack of certain luxury features compared to a German luxury car on your truck. Go buy a BMW, probably better suits your life style and what you are looking for.

  2. My only disappointment really is the interior so far. The rest looks like GM put some effort into the redux. Won’t be happy if the engines don’t at least gain 20 hp and 2-3 MPG over the 2018’s

  3. I’m one of the 90% that agree with John that this thing is full on ugly. Yeah and Joe I hope they do come out with more mpg and hp. That way you can save up for when the truck breaks down with afm lifters clacking. For every 2mpg you save put 2 dollars towards the lifters.

    1. You do realize that is an extremely rare issue right? This isn’t gen 1 systems on these trucks they have been constantly improving and having fewer and fewer issues.

  4. Where’s the regular cab, short bed?

    1. They were left behind in the 1990’s.

  5. Anxious to learn what their new colors will be. I’m hoping Chevrolet will be returning to a deeper, more masculine color blue such as their previous “Imperial Blue” instead of carrying over their weak “Ocean Blue” color for 2019. I’m sure their focus group decide which color’s sale but for me, blue is the only color for me and their Ocean Blue is just too… wimpy. I know that sounds ridiculous but it’s what has stopped me from spending $70k on a new truck.
