It’s been almost a year since the internet was first introduced to this video of a Chevrolet S10 pickup truck that had been transformed into a beastly drag racing machine by some high school kids. The teenagers gave the truck the grunt it would need to power through the quarter-mile by swapping in an LS V8 fitted with a 400-shot nitrous system. That combo is enough to lift the front end when the truck is launched down the strip.
Sadly, the video doesn’t display any quarter-mile times or trap speeds, but the simple fact that the build was completed by high school kids – and that it can successfully make it down the drag strip – is impressive enough on its own.
We can’t help but feel a bit envious. Where was this curriculum when we were in high school?
With that said, go ahead and click play to see the high schooler-built Chevrolet S10 in action, and then give us your best guess as to how quickly the truck blasted through the quarter-mile.
