One very lucky Holden Special Vehicles customer now arguably owns the best of the GTSR W1 batch: one finished in XU3 Yellah, the iconic exterior hue that adorned the original HSV VS GTS-R.
The VS GTSR-1 has become one of the most sought-after cars in Australia. HSV produced just 85—75 for Australia and 10 for New Zealand. Today, they command big price tags. The GTSR W1 channels the VS GTS-R, but HSV was adamant at its reveal that no special colors were in the cards.
However, Motor reported on Friday that a long-standing HSV customer petitioned for HSV for an XU3 Yellah GTSR W1. Although HSV insisted it did not perform the paint job, the publication reported HSV did point the customer to a trusted supplier to undertake the task.
Now, one of 275 GTSR W1s features the special hue. HSV wrapped up local production in December 2017 with the final GTSR W1, a 6.2-liter supercharged LS9 V8-powered going away party for the locally manufactured Holden Commodore.
