To celebrate 100 years of building top-selling trucks, Chevrolet decided to emphasize its new product with a 2019 Silverado reveal at the 2018 North American International Auto Show in Detroit last week. Yes, that’s the second public unveiling for the all-new light-duty pickup.
A video introduction emphasizes the significance of this century-long milestone, and afterward, Alan Batey, President of GM North America and the Global Chevrolet Brand Chief, gets on stage to tell the audience all about the new Silverado – arguably the most important product in Chevy’s portfolio, he suggests.
Batey then turns the mic over to Mark Reuss, GM’s Executive Vice President for Global Product Development, to handle the middle-segment of the 2019 Silverado reveal. Reuss goes over the LT, LTZ, and High Country trim levels, which make up three of the eight new trim levels offered for the Silverado. Finally, Michael Simcoe, the Global Vice President of Design, steps in to conclude the 2019 Silverado reveal by discussing the interior and exterior design language of the new truck.
The all-new, 2019 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 will go on sale this fall, kicking off the fourth generation for the full-size, light-duty pickup. It will come in eight trim levels with six different engine/transmission options, weighing 450 pounds less than the outgoing Silverado.
