Last October, Chevrolet made Hot Wheel and Camaro enthusiasts’ dreams come true when the 2018 Camaro Hot Wheels 50th Anniversary edition debuted. Prepare to grab your checkbooks and start saving because we now know when Chevy will begin taking orders for the life-sized Hot Wheel.
Chevy announced on Friday that orders for the 2018 Camaro Hot Wheels edition will open on February 1 and the brand said the response has been pretty incredible so far. The Hot Wheels 50th Anniversary edition content includes a range of exclusive content to differentiate it from any other Camaro.
The goodies include a special “Crush” orange exterior color—no, that’s not Hugger Orange—with Stripes finished in Satin Graphite and Silver Ice Metallic accents, and 20-inch wheels. Black bowtie badges and Hot Wheels emblems are present throughout the car, while darkened taillights, orange brake calipers and satin ground effects top off the exterior look.
The cabin features orange elements, too. The seatbelts and door kneepads are orange, while orange color-contrast stitching brightens up the Jet Black interior.
Pricing for the Camaro Hot Wheels edition will add $4,995 atop the MSRP of 2LT and 2SS coupe and convertible models.
Colors and badging for $4,995. That is more money then the package price for the 1LS-1LE which has a lot of tangible content and produces a tangible result.
My thoughts also!
Will there be a limited number of packages?
Nice looking car but it’s putting $4,995 on top of a car that’s already overpriced.
I get they’re throwing in pricey options like ground effects, black bow ties, and knee bolsters you can add onto any Camaro. I haven’t added up the prices of what they’ve included to see if it’s in the ballpark of $4,995. However, I can’t get over my initial impression the price of orange is pretty high. ?
As an aside, this edition and last’s year’s anniversary edition both offer colored calipers on all 4 wheels for SS models. Why doesn’t Chevy offer that as an option for all SSs?
Ha Mustang Bullitt-Cool, Hot Wheels Camaro- LAME !! Mattel still trying to revive a dying product, only a tool would buy one of these!!
