We have to start by expressing just how much we appreciate the supercharger whine of this sixth-gen Chevrolet Camaro SS that’s been modified by Magnuson – a company best-known for its roots-style blowers.
Magnuson built this Camaro SS to flaunt its new product, the TVS2650 supercharger, which just so happens to be the biggest blower ever produced by the company. This particular unit was designed for use in truck applications, so a hole was cut in the hood in order to accommodate its fitment. Some may not like it, but we think it gives this Camaro SS a tough look. Just don’t try to drive it in the rain.
All in all, this big, bad blower helps the LT1 V8 push out over 1,100 horsepower at the wheels. Better yet, there’s still more power to be had, as Magnuson plans to continue testing with ever smaller pulleys. The team expects that with some tooling around, they can get this Camaro to run the quarter-mile in the 8s. Right now, it’ll do a 9.5-second quarter-miler, with no weight-reduction measures, so that goal sounds pretty attainable.
