Chevrolet SS NASCAR Racer TV Stand Is Exactly Our Kind Of Decor

It’s winter across the much of the United States, and that means car enthusiasts are busy keeping busy with other things aside from toys in the garage. Sometimes, winter projects still hit close to home, and that includes this very cool Chevrolet SS television stand.

A member of the “Holden Owners Club of North America” Facebook page showed off his project, which includes a genuine Chevrolet SS NASCAR Cup racer’s front clip. Hendrick Motorsports listed the bumper for sale, and the individual quickly scooped it up for a fun project.

We’re not entirely sure if the structure behind the bumper is for shelving or organization, but even if the front clip just supports the TV, we’re all on board for more projects like this.

And the bumper is now a piece of history, too. The Chevrolet SS exited production last year ahead of Holden’s manufacturing closure. Chevrolet revealed 2018 Camaro ZL1 racer as the SS Cup racer’s successor last year.

Now, we’re absolutely itching to toss aside our rather boring entertainment stands for more motorsport-inspired designs. Winter sure can bring out the best in creativity.

  1. That’s an amazing piece, just curious do you guys know what a clip from a race car like that would go for? And where to find one?

  2. Depends on whose car it came from. JJ and Jr could be $650 give or take depending if it is from a specific race or from a paint.

    Some can go for $100.

I got a tailgate off Austin Dillon’s Craftsman Truck. #3 Bass Pro for only $90 with the rookie stripes.

You can use other things too. I have made a table with a glass top from a Indy Car tire and also a glass top table from a Block from Tim Wilkerson’s funny car.

Go to a SCCA Pro Trans Am race as they use up body parts and often give them away for free. We got a Nose cap from a TA2 Camaro and Fender one year. Another I got half of the hood from Greg Picketts TA1 Jaguar. He tossed a oil pump belt blew the engine and caught fire. I always bring a saws all and cut away the burned carbon fiber or broken parts.

The new Carbon body parts make for nice wall hangers as they are so light.

NASCAR parts are getting cheaper anymore compared to the past. Good time to check E bay or some of the places that retail them.

I had a chance to get the entire side off the Camel car and the Lance #43 for $200 on the Camel and $50 on the #43 but no way to get them home as I was at a race with no truck.

I got the Dick Trickle #90 Junie Donlevy T bird Nose once including about half the fenders for a friend for $125 if recall.

I also have a tire and wheel from a Dale Sr car from 1995.

Rods and pistons from a force, Garlits and other teams. A corner off Harvicks Hoodwrench Car. Several poster autographed posters of the entire Trans Am field from Mid Ohio. Autographed Pratt and Miller Corvette team poster and one signed by Richard Noble and The new Bloodhound jet/rocket car that is going for 1000 mph.

It is amazing what you can come cross if you keep your eyes open.
