  1. Found a few surprises on the interior photo – it shows a button for auto-stop (A with an arrowed-circle around it), wonder if that will apply to all motors like Ford is doing. The button on the lower left of the dash is for an electric parking brake. Also, there are buttons for forward collision alert, heated steering, and heated/cooled seats, so this is a higher end model. Full-size USB, USB-C, and SD cards inputs. Trailer brake control has moved to the lower left of the center stack. There’s a power tailgate button at the bottom of the center stack, and what looks to be a button to open all the windows…

  2. I really do like this truck. I absolutely Love the side profile and even the back end. And I sincerely hope there’s a range topping trim above High Country because Chevrolet really needs that. The front end is just off though. I really disliked the Elvis sideburns on the new Tahoe headlights when it came out and I think they look equally as bad here also…

But what’s really odd is where the front bumper and fender meet. Why is there a chunk of metal missing out of the bumper ends and in it’s place is black plastic? Is there some new sensors behind there? If not, why on earth did they do that? And then they just cut the bumper short and instead run the fender all the way down into where the bumper Should be. I’m sitting here trying to digest the whole thing and just not getting it. The truck would look so much nicer if the bumper went all the way around like normal and the fender stopped above the bumper like normal. It’s more bizarre looking to my eye than the jowls on the current Malibu or even the plastic bumper end caps on those earlier gmt-900’s.

If they’d lose the elvis sideburns and fix the area where the bumper and fender meet, I could honestly say this would be one of, if not The best looking trucks Chevrolet has ever made. It would be right there with the 67-72’s and the 88-98’s IMO. Total game changers for their time. Again, if there’s some sort of collision sensors or something hiding behind that black plastic, I guess it is what it is. But if they designed it that way for the heck of it, I really wish they wouldn’t have. Because the rest of it is so nice…

    1. There is a separation there to allow for airflow and create air curtains on the side of the truck, for better aerodynamics. The truck got bigger but I’d more aerodynamic.

I’ve never seen a truck with this design feature (f150s version just looks like bad bumper/headlight alignment) so inimsgine it will take a little time for people to get used to it.

Overall this was a pretty drastic change. The outside design is about perfect. I hope the wheels have *slightly* lower offset than this generation to push them right out to the sheet metal.

  3. How are the sunroofs of high end trims, are they panoramic?

  4. Noticed the front fenders, or the area that would typically be sheetmetal just above and behind the front bumper, are plastic panels. I think they could easily revise the front end if people don’t take to it.

Personally I’m sort of split. It looks much more athletic and trim in the rear, but the front of the truck looks to me what I can only describe as chubby. Despite that, it’s still better than today’s truck by a wide margin.

  5. I’m going to have to see it in person or wait for the GMC. I’m in the minority I guess because I don’t really like it. That front fender and general front profile are turning me off. Maybe get a deal on a remaining ’18. Love the diesel news though!!!!!!
