Despite the frigid temperatures and inches of snow that swept over parts of the country these past few months, this 2019 Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 was still out and about, frolicking in the snow. Needless to say, it’ll take more than a little dusting from Jack Frost to keep the Corvette team from doing its job.
While the idea of driving a Corvette in the snow might seem abnormal, or even frightening, the C7 Corvette ZR1 was engineered to be a bit more forgiving than the Z06, the aim being crafting more of a high-powered street car than an all-out, hardcore track weapon like the 2018 Camaro ZL1 1LE. Even so, the ZR1 is 2.5 seconds quicker around Virginia International Raceway, per Corvette team testing.
Flame-throwing capabilities and 1,000 pounds of downforce may seem a bit excessive for a daily driver, but if you’re going to pay $120,000 for a car, it ought to provide a very special experience.
That said, keep doing what you’re doing, Corvette team. We can’t wait to get behind the wheel of a C7 ZR1 and experience these thrills for ourselves.
