The 2018 Chevrolet Colorado ZR2 walked away empty-handed from the 2018 North American International Auto Show. The North American Car and Truck of the Year judges named the 2018 Lincoln Navigator the truck of the year.
The finalists also included the 2018 Ford Expedition, which judged deemed impressive, but the Navigator edged the Colorado and Ford-twinned SUV out.
“The 2018 Navigator received a more dramatic update than its Ford Expedition sibling and its impact for the brand will be stronger as a result,” said NACTOY juror Ron Sessions of the New York Daily News. “With its design now aligned with the Continental, the Navigator becomes an even more important image – and the profit-maker for Lincoln.”
The Colorado as a whole hasn’t gone unnoticed in recent years, however. Chevy’s mid-size pickup won Motor Trend’s Truck of the Year award two years in a row.

Makes sense though the ZR2 is more of a package/update than the other’s all new designs.
I’ve seen a new Navigator in person. I thought it was ugly in photos, but the real thing takes the ugly cake.
Not a fan of the Ford errr Lincoln.
These awards are political anyways you take the wins if you get them for marketing and disregard anything else.
Remember these are the same people who rewarded the Vega and AMC Alliance. Mustang I and Omni for car of the year.
That was Motor Trend that gave the awards you are referring to for MT’s Car of the year not these people.
Sorry missed that. But most of these awards are popularity or marketing politics even the Detroit show.
I totally agree with you. I own a ’15 Colorado. I was just thinking yesterday, how much I like its interior design and materials which will definitely hold up. It is good on gas, comfortable ride and practical buy for my taste.
