The 2018 North American International Auto Show is just weeks away, and the show has officially revealed its press conference schedule, pending any changes. And right now, General Motors’ brands do not have a single thing scheduled.
Rather, Chevrolet is listed for an offsite media event on January 13. We expect Chevrolet will fully reveal the 2019 Silverado at this event after the pickup’s surprise debut at the Texas Motor Speedway this past Saturday. However, just because GM hasn’t listed any other brand doesn’t mean more offsite events won’t take place.
Events outside of the auto show circuit have become more commonplace to control the news cycle, rather than compete with other debuts for coverage. Remember, GM didn’t have a scheduled debut for the 2017 LA Auto Show, but the 2019 C7 Corvette ZR1 showed up anyway.
We’ll be live from the show to bring you the latest from Chevy, Buick, GMC and Cadillac. Expect a whole lot of news surrounding pickup trucks, especially as Ram also gears up to introduce the 2019 Ram 1500.
