Neil Young said so long to his 1953 Buick Roadmaster after the vehicle found a new home at Julien’s Auctions in Los Angeles. The buyer ponied up for the vintage Buick with a $400,000 final sale price, Reuters reported.
The 72-year-old rock and roll icon offered 230 pieces for auction with the Roadmaster among some of the most notable. Young is also a model-train enthusiast, and many of his prized pieces were offered at auction.
Young’s Roadmaster is a convertible finished in bright red with a touch of customization. The steering wheel hub also proclaims, “Customized for Neil Young.”
It’s unclear how much Young’s pieces brought in that day, but a portion of the proceeds will go to Bridge School in California. The school helps children with severe speech and physical impairments.
