General Motors has a new talent agency in United Talent Agency, or UTA. Both the agency and automaker made the new contract official this past Thursday.
The agency’s marketing department will handle any GM-branded entertainment initiatives going forward, though the announcement did not discuss what the work might include.
GM is UTA’s latest high-profile client. The agency also carries out work for Amazon, Delta Air Lines, LinkedIn, Lyft and more high-profile clients.
“We are fortunate and privileged to be working with one of the world’s most iconic brands at such a watershed moment,” said UTA CEO Jeremy Zimmer in a statement. “Under the guidance of [CEO] Mary Barra and her team, GM is demonstrating innovative leadership, and we love the challenge of working in partnership with them to drive that innovation within the entertainment industry.”

Another promise-filled, super connected entertainment connection?
First, a miss for GM’s agencies to not provide this in their full-service offerings.
And second, GM’s been through a number of entertainment firms. Can’t think of one they stayed with – just another silo that allows brand mgrs to rub elbows with Ellen DeGeneres or Pharrell or Lady Gaga.
Maybe this one will work.
