  1. Not to worry.. Cadillac of China will try to figure out a marketing strategy to make up the difference in China; it’s just a shame that we don’t have such a maverick working the US market.

    1. What part of the fact that Cadillac is in the middle of its biggest turnaround globally (including the US and other markets like China) isn’t clear?

Because of that, sales will be in limbo in established markets (US, Canada) until the product-led turnaround is complete. The only reason sales are up in China is not because of some maverick marketing strategy, but because pent-up demand is being satisfied due to most Cadillac models now being more affordable than they were before. Here’s some info on that for the sake of education:

      1. I revisited that post.

Interesting that Cadillac brings in $3.2b in the US, and China, $300m.

The only import listed (made in the US) was the Escalade.

But that 10x differential may help explain GM’s patience with the revamped Cadillac line.

  2. Releasing the same exact car will cost $100 more, because lease residuals are 8-10% lower than 2 years ago.

    1. The entire lineup (save for the XT5) will get overhauled over the next 18 months… so it won’t be the same car…

  3. It’s never good to see negative numbers like this but it’s no suprize or shouldn’t be .
Just the Escalade ( SUV ) and XT5 ( Crossover ) are following the trend of American’s buying habits , but the CT6 should be selling a bit better than it is .
Every model but the ATS outsold it , and the good ol’ XTS again sells more than double the sales of it’s big brother . Cadillac / GM can’t be happy with the lackluster sales numbers of it’s new car .

    1. You do realize that the CT6 has internal competition from the cheaper XTS, right?

What do you think happens when the XTS goes away? CT6 volume will jump.

      Simple as pie.

  4. Yes Alex ,I do realize their is competition between the two cars , duh ! And price isn’t the only reason either , it actually could be they like ( oh my ) how it rides .
Talk to a Cadillac salesman and ask for his / her opinion on the sales numbers . The traditional Cadillac owner likes the XTS for the ( sit down ) ride , a more traditional Cadillac ride and it’s not a boat either . Ya think that is why Cadillac didn;t kill the car as early as what was once reported . Their flagship isn’t selling well , the XTS is $$$$$$ .
When the XTS does disappear my worry is they will ” jump ” to another car company like maybe Genesis .
They for sure are not going to go buy a Buick LaCrosse .
How about that piece of pie !?!
