Cadillac’s successful motorsport season in IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship is a cause for celebration and the brand has three special cars to do just that. Cadillac revealed the ATS-V and CTS-V Championship editions on Thursday to celebrate its Manufacturer’s Championship with its new racer, the DPi-V.R.

Overall, the special edition cars are a bit underwhelming for such a banner motorsport year. Nonetheless, they feature a few cool nods to the brand’s motorsport division. Both the 2018 Cadillac CTS-V and 2018 Cadillac ATS-V Championship editions will be available in Black Raven or Crystal White Tricoat. Cadillac V-Performance graphics don the hood and rear spoiler, while a DPi-V.R graphics embellish the quarter windows. CTS-Vs receive 19-inch wheels, while ATS-Vs sport 18-inch wheels. Finally, red mirror caps complete the championship look.
Inside, red accents wash over the CTS-V and ATS-V Championship editions. Red front and rear door armrests, and red-accented carbon-fiber interior trim are the main draws. Drivers and passengers will plop into a set of Jet Black Recaro racing seats.

We wish Cadillac would have done something a smidge more exciting, but the Championship editions at least jazz things up appropriately. Prepare to pay for a special car, however. The Cadillac ATS-V Championship edition sedan will cost $72,190 and coupe starts at $74,390. The CTS-V Championship edition commands $105,730. The luxury brand will build just 200 examples in total between all three variations.

Cadillac will be making only 200 vehicles, this is the part of Cadillac President Johan de Nysschen scheme that just fails because unless he has been living under a rock for the past 18 months, sales of all Cadillac vehicles except for the Escalade ad XT5 is in a death spiral; why put limitations on sales volume on vehicles people want to buy.. if I was de Nysschen, I would almost be interested in making the 650 hp supercharged 6.2L V8 as a standard engine for the CTS and let everyone who wants it buy the car because artificial ceilings is hurting and not helping.
If only they put the LT1 into the ATS-V and then put a black DPi badge on it, that would have been just right.
Why is the LT1 any different? Both engines have about the same performance rating!
The IMSA Caddies have a V8, so halo-ing from them should include that, and the sound.
CT6,CT5,CT4/XT4,XT3,XT6,XT5. JDN is getting these old out of here, bring in these new for Cadillac, yes these man has a clue what he’s doing.
What’s cool is Cadillac finally blacked out the trim on the side of the CTS-V (windows and door handles). This looks good — I’d like to see it in black.
