Another day, another round of 2019 Chevrolet Silverado spy shots. This time, the truck is wearing even less camouflage.
Although the actual design is still skewed, we can start to see the shape of the truck itself, which looks far less bulky and boxy than the current Silverado. The wheel wells, as we mentioned before, no longer boast a squared-off design, and the tip of the hood seems to extend over the rather large grille. We can still see the new LED accent lights hiding under the camo as well.
This truck did not sport the faux exhaust tips like we’ve seen on previous prototypes, which leads us to believe this is a more commonplace trim, not a fully loaded truck. We still don’t know what’s going on underneath the design but expect new powertrains and familiar updated ones as well—and some aluminum construction.
The continued striptease of camouflage makes us believe the 2019 Silverado will be ready for a debut sooner rather than later, potentially at the 2018 North American International Auto Show.

Looks like a more agressive Colorado? I’m actually not upset with that as I love my Colorado and the design of it. These might turn out good actually. Still can’t believe they are ditching the square wheel wells. Aerodynamics must have finally won that one.
No GMC will have square wheel wells and Chevy round.
More of the evolution of making the truck more different to appeal to different buyers.
GMC wheels are still far less square than the current truck.
Notice the drop going from the front of the truck towards the back. The GMC has this going from the back towards the front. Even the doors one these will be different between the Sierra and Silverado. Far more differentiation than ever before.
They are trying to style it like a ford to sway ford buyers. Looks like I’m going to drive GMC’s from here on out. I want to drive a truck, not a city car with a bed
Got that backwards. It’s the Ford that has the Chevy front end.
I’m disgusted with how much this looks like a Tundra…….Are you sure this is a Chevy? Hopefully the actual design without the camo is better looking.
Like I said, they are going to send their Gm loyalist to GMC and use this to tempt ram/ford/Toyota buyers. The sad this is I personally like the bowtie!
The headlights look like they’re going to take on a shape more similar to that of the current Tahoe’s headlight. They have the split, upper and lower eyelash kind of look, but more aggressive.
Don’t get your panties in a bunch.
Let them finish the truck. 50% will love the new truck and 50% will hate it at first then 45% of the haters will grow to embrace it.
Some will say it changed just right and other not enough.
Happens every time.
If you want square fenders go to GMC you want round go to Chevy.
The styling will be next step Colorado here mostly with a few new curves on it to change it up to counter al, those the last time said they did not change it enough.
God, I hated the old square wheel arches. Caused me to buy a ’17 Colorado vs. the Silverado. No regrets the Colorado is fantastic, especially with the diesel.
See the new Chevy is for you.
I personally like the square wheel wells. It sets it apart from all the others. Now it sort of looks like everything else.
And the GMC is for you.
We all win.
ford looses
All I want for Christmas is longer suspension travel and more power w/10 speed auto 😀
10 speeds are overkill. Lot more complexity for little gain.
the 10 speed is worlds beyond the ZF 8-speed in terms of shift time, smoothness, and its ability to keep the engine in the powerband.
A torqued up LT4 in a silverado with the ZR2 suspension setup and the 10-speed would make the raptor obsolete.
New:: Inline DOHC 6 cylinder engine 3.0 liter TC, New:: 2.7 liter four cylinder DOHC engine TC, Hybrid system, New:: TC diesel V6 engine, will power these new trucks.
Lol an inline 6 and a 2.7L eh? Surrre bud
From what i’ve been reading this past year, inline sixes will be coming back. Not full force mind you but OEMs are looking at them again. Won’t be surprised if it’s offered in the trucks. I would find it odd to see a 4 cylinder unless it’s only available on the smaller wheel bases like Ford does with the 2.7 ecoboost.
Only a couple Euro MFG have looked at inline engines.
They are heavy and can not be used in anything transverse. Packaging is a problem that will hurt them.
Even in the vehicles they are in they often have to slant them to give enough hood space to be sold in Europe.
They are a better engine but just too many packaging liabilities.
The 5.3 V8 will carry over. They are not going with a 4 and 6 cylinder only setup.
Hopefully the 5.3 will beat Ford in HP andTQ. Matter of fact I hope they will beat all the competition across the board in every Engine offered. The iceing on the cake should be better fuel mileage across the board also. If etheydo fall a little short in the HP and TQ rateing then at least beat them in gas mileage, load carrying and tow rateing.
Squared fender arches caused you to the smaller Colorado over the full size Silverado ? I call BS on this one.
Lol “I didn’t like Porsches rear view mirror, so I bought a Civic”
I love that grille and the way it’s slanted forward. It reminds me of a Camaro infotainment screen…
Reminds me of the Ram. Which isn’t a bad thing, it looks good and aggressive. But I’ll call a spade a spade.
As for styling, it looks like Chevy wants to be the new RAM. VERY disappointing. I have had 6 Chevy trucks in the past 11 years. If they round off the wheel wells that streak will end.
At, first I thought there was not a big enough change. Now, with these new pictures I can’t believe how different they are going to be. Finally. aggressive and different. Can’t wait.
My only gripe with the styling is how low the front end is. It’s like GM just wants better highway MPG for advertising numbers. What ever happened to the simplicity and off-road-ability of the 2006-2007 GM truck front ends? Trucks shouldn’t have double chins, nor should they have a bumper that’ll easily be damaged when driving off-road(to worksites and such). They better make a ZR2 version with a pre-runner style front like the current ZR2.
Just wait for the arrival of the next big thing GM will introduce.
The Carbon Fiber Truck Bed.

Never underestimate what GM will do to sell and make money with trucks.
Never said these V8 engine’s were going any where because there not. Ok just what about those engine’s I just talk about.
Looks good! I do hope they remembered rear ac this time around.
Looks good! I do hope they remembered rear ac vents this time around.
