It’s almost hard to believe the Chevrolet Camaro is 50 years old, but here we are. Chevrolet marked the milestone with the special Camaro 50th Anniversary edition last year, but how about a little more nostalgia?
A new video shows the evolution and transformation of the Chevrolet Camaro over 50 years and it’s mighty satisfying to watch. Complete with exhaust sounds for each year and model, price, weight and horsepower ratings, the video takes viewers back through time to experience all notable Camaro models over five decades.
Viewers learn various factoids about the Camaro such as the fourth-generation model’s return to glory in 1993. With 275 horsepower, the Camaro Z/28 provided the highest power output since 1971. And it only got better from there, despite the car’s absence through the 2000s.

69 Z/28. Still the best looking and sounding with the chambered pipe exhaust and cowl induction hood.
I love the fact that performance cars today will destroy any performance car of the 60s and 70s. I love old cars but there is no comparison to new cars today!
Correction – The 1985 Iroc came with the 190hp H.O carb engine or the 215hp fuel injected engine option. The Z28 had 155hp 305 not the Iroc. The 87 to 88 hit 230hp and the 90 245hp. The best third gen was the 91/92 at 255hp. Another thing to note was due to insurance purposes 1968 to 1970hp was underrated from factory. Good video though!
