The C3 Corvette ZR1 is one rare ride, but a convertible? Finding one is nearly impossible. Well, we should say finding “the one” because only one was built. Lucky for collectors, it’s currently for sale on Hemmings.
It’s a 1971 C3 Corvette ZR1 with an LT1 V8 engine, upgraded suspension, four-speed manual transmission and power brakes. Over decades, the car has amassed just 16,423 miles. The exterior color is Steel Cities Gray and the interior boasts black leather. The C3 ZR1 was one of the final high-performance Corvettes before emission regulations and other rules placed a leash on the nameplate for years.
The seller states full documentation is included and even the owner’s manual is still intact.
Only eight C3 ZR1s were built, but this car is the only convertible variant. Serious buyers will have to inquire about the price, but we imagine it’s going to be an expensive buy.

Nice! But “we imagine it’s not going to be an expensive buy”?
Surly you mean it “is” going to be expensive!
I see error has been corrected – great response time!
This is not the only C3 ZR1, maybe the only 1971 C3 ZR1 convertible. I think between 1970-1972 model years Chevy built only eight units of the C3 convertible with ZR1 pack.
This is a 1970 Corvette ZR1 convertible:
