Chevrolet currently offers a Midnight Edition package for many of its vehicles, but the current Silverado 3500 isn’t one of them. If a particular 2017 SEMA concept is anything to go on, that could change soon.
Pickuptrucks.com referenced the Chevrolet Silverado 3500HD NHRA Safety Safari concept from the 2017 SEMA show as potential evidence. The truck features a boatload of safety equipment as a typical safety truck would, such as a fire suppression system and AMKUS Rescue Equipment System. However, its design notably includes plenty of Midnight Edition cues.
The bumpers, bowties and 22-inch wheels are all black. Really, that’s all the Midnight Edition is anyway. Chevy often uses the SEMA show to gauge interest in new special editions, though the NHRA Safety Safari concept was arguably stood up by other more interesting cars this year. But, a Silverado 3500HD Midnight Edition wouldn’t be difficult to justify. We could see such a truck bow as the next-generation Silverado readies itself for duty.
