This episode of “One Take” from The Smoking Tire demonstrates that when you take a Chevrolet C5 Corvette and slap a Paxton Novi 2000 blower on it, you’re in for a really good time.
The Corvette in question is owned by a friend of Matt’s named Joel Feingold. Joel is a seasons runway racer, and he uses his C5 to compete in various events. As such, he’s outfitted the car with quite a few modifications, including the aforementioned Paxton blower, eight heat exchangers, a custom air-to-water intercooler setup, and an upsized K&N intake. The original LS3 V8 has been stroked to 418 cubic-inches, and the car now makes better than 800 horsepower at the wheels.
Joel uses the Corvette to compete in various motorsport events, and it’s capable of getting up to 173 miles-per-hour in the half-mile, which is on par with the Porsche 918 Spyder. It can hit 206 mph in the standing mile.
Simply put, this car is wicked fast.
