Custom 1958 Corvette Pays Homage To Sting Ray Race Car

It’s nearly time for Barrett-Jackson’s banner auction event in Scottsdale, Arizona, and we’ll continue to see some pretty spectacular cars consigned. One of the latest is this 1958 Chevrolet Corvette.

The car pays homage to the C2 Corvette Sting Ray race car and it’s hard to believe this once was a C1 Corvette. It specifically mimics a 1965 C2 Corvette roadster and it’s one of only six ever built. Powering the car is a 283 cubic-inch V8 engine paired to a four-speed manual transmission. Posi-traction is present, too.

Barrett-Jackson says the car sports its original body tag and VIN, and it’s already registered with the Corvette Registry. It’s also eligible for Monterey Historic races. The auction house doesn’t list an estimated sale price, but the car will reach the block with no reserve.
