The GM Authority Take

Despite the 20 percent drop in U.S. October sales volume, the Tahoe remained the best-selling model in its class by a wide margin, significantly ahead of all other entrants. Its cousin and platform mate – the GMC Yukon (see GMC Yukon sales) came in second place, while the Nissan Armada came in third thanks to a 100 percent growth in sales during the month. The Ford Expedition (see Ford Expedition sales), which includes the regular-length Expedition and extended-length Expedition L as well as the Toyota Sequoia brought up the tail end of the segment, with the Expedition currently undergoing launch.

Notably, the Tahoe accounted for 32 percent of the segment. Combined, the Tahoe and Suburban accounted for 54 percent. GM’s Chevrolet and GMC entrants ran away with a 77 percent share of the segment.

  1. GM should really start combining the sales of their Yukon & Yukon XL, Escalade & Escalade ESV, etc. Thats like GM having different sales metrics for Short and Long bed Silverado & Sierras
