Cadillac Celebrates Banner Racing Season By Installing Minicar Racetrack At Cadillac House

Cadillac will close 2017 with a celebration at the brand’s Cadillac House in New York City to mark a successful motorsport season. The brand-incubator space will house a new interactive display called “Vissionaire Racing” with a minicar racetrack.

The brand invites visitors to construct their own kit cars—kits can be purchased on site—and compete against each other. The mini track is the largest of its kind on the east coast. The display itself pulls inspiration from 1980s Japanese miniature 4WD model-making and racing competitions.

Cadillac also held a private event at the Cadillac House for its racing teams to celebrate victories in the IMSA Weathertech Sportscar racing championship, IMSA Weather-Tech DPi driver championship and 2017 Pirelli World Challenge SprintX Championship. It marked the end of an era for Cadillac in the Pirelli World Challenge, though; the brand ended its PWC campaign at the end of this season.

Qualifying minicar races will be held on December 3, 10 and 17 and Cadillac will host a grand finale showdown for the top racers on January 7, 2018. The display itself opened on November 16.
