Another day, another sensational exhaust video. This time, the focus is on the Chevrolet C7 Corvette Z06 and its 6.2-liter LT4 V8 courtesy of Borla’s two exhaust options – the ATAK and the S-Type.
Those familiar with GM’s V8 engines know that it’s nearly impossible to make these motors sound bad. But it is possible to refine their harmonics. Borla engineered its systems with that objective.
The ATAK (Acoustically-Tuned Applied Kinetics) exhaust system features tweaked mufflers for the best possible sound quality, while the S-Type is a bit more tame (or perhaps more subtle). Pricing is in the vicinity of $2,000, but be sure to verify that at borla.com.
We prefer the acoustics of the ATAK system, as it provides a clearer sound while also being a bit more audible… but we’ll defer to you about which one you prefer. Hit the play button to hear the comparison for yourself.

Power increase? Cost? Why do they put out articles like this without all of the info?
1. You’re not getting an aftermarket exhaust system on a Z06 for the “power increase”. If you are, there’s something wrong.
2. Borla doesn’t mention any power boost figures, which means that the systems are all about acoustics rather than any negligible increases in power.
We added pricing to the article.
You’re welcome.
Building a new exhaust and not getting a power gain is just dumb! Why bother
