Aria Group – the 22-year-old design, engineering, and manufacturing firm that dreamt up the “Fast Eddy” mid-engine Corvette-inspired concept revealed last year – is gearing up to unveil a follow-up to that car, dubbed the “Aria FXE”. In forecasting what, exactly, the FXE is, the teaser image shown here is all we have to go on. It doesn’t give much away, but the shadow-enveloped shape looks decidedly “Corvette” to us, based on the taillamp design.
The Aria FXE – whatever it is – is slated to be revealed on Thursday, November 30th. We figure it’s most likely another mid-engine Corvette concept, although whether it utilizes a front- or mid-engine layout is up in the air, and we can’t rule out the possibility that it’s a production-ready version of the Fast Eddy.
The Fast Eddy concept, by the way, was named in honor of late GM designer Ed Taylor, whose son Charles Taylor co-founded Aria Group decades ago.
Granted, Chevrolet appears to have its own mid-engine Corvette in the works, with a reveal speculated t0 be scheduled for the North American International Auto Show in Detroit, perhaps by 2019. That could make redundant any limited-production that a mid-engine Corvette-inspired Aria might have up its sleeve. But for those enchanted by the concept teaser, be sure to tune in here on Thursday.
