2019 Chevrolet Silverado Interior Spied And It Looks Mighty Familiar

We’ve said it once before, but the 2019 Chevrolet Silverado may be more evolution than revolution. That ethos may certainly apply to the truck’s interior, which looks pretty similar to the current Silverado.

New spy shots show the truck’s interior and when comparing it to the current pickup, the center stack looks almost identical to the current model. Additionally, the steering wheel design boasts the same plastic trim around the buttons. What does look different is the center touchscreen, which seems larger than the current Silverado’s.

Judging by the latest photos, the exterior and powertrain may see the most changes and improvements. The trucks could boast Delphi’s dynamic skip fire technology to improve fuel economy and it’s almost certain the 2019 Silverado 1500 will gain a diesel option.

Spy photographers have caught the truck testing often, but we still don’t have a solid date for when 2019 Silverado will show face. However, judging by the lack of camouflage and frequent sightings, the 2018 North American International Auto Show might be a good bet.

  1. Disappointing that the interior gets half-assed on such a high profit vehicle

    1. I agree! I’m not impressed by what I’m seeing thus far! It looks to be nothing more than a refreshed version of the current truck’s interior design, which in my opinion trails the competition from Ford and Ram! I at least hope this time they offer rear climate control vents!

    2. Have a 2017 and the milage is upwards of 23 and best at 25.3. So if the new ones do better u r going to have to drain gas out of it about once a week. Lol. Poor fords=poor milage

  2. center stack seems to protrude more than previous generation. It seems a bit more agressive. It uses much of the same large finger friendly knobs. There is a lot to the interior than just the air and radio controls. I hope that they have revolutionized the rest of the cabin. That’s where little has changed in trucks over the past couple years.

  3. Shocking. It’s so boring looking again.
Wow the Ram will just keep chipping away at the Silverado market. I was hopeful GM would’ve made a huge leap in materials and in design. Guess that’s not going to happen. Come on GM.

    1. Dodge has nothing for GM trucks. Dodge has it in theory but they use sub par materials d it falls Part in short order.

  5. If this is in fact the interior for the new style, I will go to a Ford or Dodge when my lease is up on my 2016 Sierra Denali.

  6. That’s one ugly dash.

  7. Don’t panic people. The shots are showing a cloth bench seat, so this is an LT model. If you look at a Ford cloth trimmed interior, it is all hard plastic, all mono-colored in gray, etc just like this one. No doubt the upper trim levels will have added touches to dress it up. The link I provided above shows a more uncovered dash and it shows a much nicer dash treatment, especially as it moves across to the passenger side.

  8. I would brag about Ford or Dodge either both suck too. Gm has got the best seats by far. Only thing Dodge has got is the Cummins. Ford diesels suck

  10. The interior on the current truck is great so it doesn’t need to be completely overhauled.

  11. Let them finish this and uncover it in all editions before you get your panties in a bunch.

    1. Too late! My panties are already bunched by this mediocrity! Hardly anything evolutionary design wise, let alone revolutionary! I at least hope they get everything else right though….

      1. This sounds just like all the people who said the current wouldn’t sale when they came out and where are those people today?

Chevy/GMC twins sale about 70k units a month not what I would consider a failure

      2. Even an idiot know not to fix it if it’s not broke.

        1. We’re not askin’ them to fix what ain’t broken, we’re asking them to innovate for once! All the current GMT pickups did was catch up to the competition, which is fine and dandy for the sake of quick sales. But the competition keeps getting better! I don’t want to see a Silverado/Sierra that’s only “as good as” the F-Series of trucks! I want to see GM surpass them for once! Think outside the box for cryin’ out loud!

          1. Put wings and tell on it! That’s thinking outside of the box! Sounds stupid because it is!

Ask yourself this, does all that fancy stuff help your truck do it’s job? They call it work for a reason!

          2. the current Silverado outperforms 2018 f150 in ride quality, fuel economy and power when properly configured. Most silverados are practically equal to the new 2018 f150. Ford is playing catch up and chevy is trying to keep its edge. Why do you think the Silverado is not receiving the amount of updates as the f150 is? because the are on top. The only reason that f150s out sell Silverados is that chevy has withdrawn from fleet sales.

            1. I’m a Chevy guy, but I can’t agree with this.

As for sales, Ford has been selling closely at our outright outselling all 6 lines of GM trucks with just 2 lines of trucks with their F-series, while having the highest average transaction prices and lowest incentives of the big 3. You don’t do that with just fleet sales of work trucks.

GM has been throwing a ton of money on the hoods of Silverados these last few months just to stay ahead of RAM.

The current Silverado received a front face lift only on it’s 3rd model year, the F150 received it’s updates on it’s mid-cycle 4th model year.

The reason the Silverado hasn’t done any updates recently is because its about to be replaced, and it’s going to need to innovate if it not only wants to beat Ford but stay ahead of Ram.

              1. Gpage, you got it my friend! Whatever innovative ideas that can be implemented to make the trucks more capable and appealing is all I’m askin for!

Considering the top trim F-150 can be loaded up to nearly 80k and Superduty trucks higher yet, Ford’s average transaction prices are FAR from impressive. Also, it doesn’t matter if GM sells 6 trucks under 2 brands or dozen trucks under 4 brands. They move more trucks than any other manufacturer. Not bad considering the K2xx is essentially an updated gmt900.

Ford has the advantage of having the most recently updated truck and powertrain, yet they have been pushing incentives heavily the past few months in order to maintain their misleading “best selling ‘truck’ for xx years”. Every Ford dealer within 30 miles of my location has ads for $10k+ off of new F-150.

“…it’s going to need to innovate if it not only wants to beat Ford but stay ahead of Ram.”

Outside of the overhead 360 camera, Ford has loaded up on gimmicks, not innovations. Ford should focus on improving their build quality and fixing their troubled powertrains. The performance the F-150 put on last year in pickuptruck’s 2016 Texas Truck Showdown was embarrassing. If GM bumps up power or offers 8 or 10mspeed transmissions as standard, the F-150 will be playing 2nd fiddle.

  12. I would enjoy a wide-screen center display on the high end trims, similar to what you can find on a Lexus LX or 750i. Look at the current GM truck center stack and tell me you wouldn’t enjoy screen in the area currently full of black plastic.

These trucks and suvs compete for the same dollars, at the same price points.

    1. If a big wide screen is what you like then why do you wait for the factory to build one for you? With all that area right there as you have mentioned. There are plenty of aftermarket items that can help you.

      Let me guess,

      Your to cheap? Maybe
      No mechanical skills? Maybe
Really lazy and wants other people to do the hard thinking for you? Probably

GM build what ever you want cuz people like this are never going to be happy or satisfied!

Or in most if you hater ways, 4×4, don’t take it off road, bed liner, but don’t put anything back there , leather interior, put camo cloth seats covers over it. Smh

    1. I agree, Chevy should be more focused on building durable, reliable work trucks, let GMC build the over engineered luxo trucks. Just like Cadillac is failing to do, Chevy should be building trucks that sustain their “like a rock” image, they should still offer higher trim levels, but focus building a good, solid work truck first.

    1. Looks like a dust magnet. Hopefully that glossy plastic doesn’t scratch as easily as the Tacoma’s soft glossy interior plastic does. Also, that huge glossy panel is going to be blinding on a sunny day. At least it’ll help distract potential owners from the minivan shifter knob and cheap interior bits that begin falling apart by 30k miles (past Ram owner).
