2019 C7 Corvette ZR1 Officially Teased For November 12 Debut

Yesterday was a big day for Corvette news after the 2019 Corvette ZR1 leaked out ahead of its rumored debut in Dubai on November 12. The reveal day was suggested, but now, we know it’s official.

The new Corvette ZR1 will make its debut on November 12, per a teaser video released on the official Corvette Facebook page. The video quickly pans over dark body panels with the powerful Corvette idling and revving its 6.2-liter LT5 V8 engine.

New information from the leaked Car and Driver cover story on the 2019 Corvette ZR1 surfaced as well. From the magazine, posted to Corvette Forum, we know the ZR1’s engine will adopt the LT5 designation, but it is not a DOHC design. Instead, it features a larger supercharger over the LT4 V8, a larger throttle body, stronger crankshaft and a new fuel injection system.

The leaked information also stated the suspension is identical to the Corvette Z06 but boasts different tuning and that the car itself will shoot flames from the exhaust. Because we need a Corvette to shoot flames.

Watch for official information and photos to drop this Sunday around 10 a.m.

  1. Why is it making it’s debut in Dubai? Does GM think that the Dubai police will buy some to add to their supercar police car fleet. It should be making it’s debut at the National Corvette Museum or the Technical Center.

  2. I was kinda wishing there would be a DOHC V8 making the cut, just for the sake of something different being offered in the Vette. I hope it’ll be more than just a more powerful Z06 with a lot of aero parts! But I expect it to be a stellar performer none the less!
