1968 Iso Rivolta Is Italian Design Married To A Corvette Engine: Video

The story of the Lamborghini brand’s birth is well known, but Iso? Not so much. Enzo Ferrari never took Renzo Rivolta’s criticisms over his cars to heart, so in Lamborghini fashion, Rivolta set off to build his own car. And this is it: the Iso Rivolta.

Giugiaro designed the car and it features clean lines and an almost German-like profile. But it’s the engine that brings its story to GM Authority.

Rivolta sourced a 5.4-liter Corvette V8 engine to power his creation and it almost seems out of place in such an elegant looking car. The noises it makes wouldn’t be out of place at a drag strip, but this delicate machine howls and barks on European streets unlike many other cars from its time.

Have a look at the car’s full story in the accompanying video.
