Maven Expands In Australia To Three Additional Markets

General Motors Maven made the trip down under earlier this year when the car-sharing platform launched its Maven Gig service in Sydney and Melbourne, Australia. Now, Holden announced three new markets for the service.

Brisbane, Adelaide and the Gold Coast will have access to Maven Gig after a very healthy roll out of the service in its initial markets. Holden says 400 Maven cars, 600 drivers and users traveled two million kilometers (1.2 million miles) in just two months.

Maven Gig specifically gives access to a fleet of Holden cars for those working ride-sharing services such as Uber or Lyft. Additionally, it provides a set of wheels for any other freelance work for as little as $215 AUD per week. The service does not cap mileage and includes service, insurance and roadside assistance.

Holden wouldn’t dish out details, but it said more mobility services are on the horizon and it plans to tap GM more to launch innovative mobility solutions.
