GMC U.S. Sales Increase 9.4 Percent To 47,329 Units In September 2017

Cumulative U.S. sales of GM’s GMC brand increased 9.4 percent to 47,329 units in September 2017.

Retail sales decreased 5.8 percent or 2,243 units to 40,938 vehicles, representing 86.5 percent of total GMC sales in September 2017. That compares to 38,695 retail sales in September 2016, which represented 89.4 percent of total GMC sales.

Fleet sales increased 39.8 percent or 1,818 units to 6,391 vehicles, representing 13.5 percent of total GMC sales in September 2017. That compares to 4,573 fleet sales in September 2016, which represented 10.6 percent of total GMC sales.

Individual model sales performance was as follows:

  • GMC Acadia sales increased 11.32 percent to 7,564 units
  • GMC Canyon sales decreased 0.92 percent to 2,922 units
  • GMC Savana sales increased 245.12 percent to 3,465 units
  • GMC Sierra sales increased 0.21 percent to 18,106 units
    • Denali penetration on the GMC Sierra reached 38 percent
    • Sierra had the highest ATP in its segment for the 12th consecutive month
  • GMC Terrain sales increased 61.17 percent to 9,116 units; retail sales increased 66 percent
    • The results represent the model’s best September ever
  • GMC Yukon sales decreased 32.19 percent to 3,591 units
  • GMC Yukon XL sales decreased 26.71 percent to 2,565 units
  • Overall Denali penetration was 33 percent, the highest monthly rate ever

In the first nine months of 2017, GMC sales increased 3.63 percent to 405,634 units. During the same time frame, Average Transaction Prices (ATPs) reached their highest point in GMC history at $43,210.

    GMC put it on the map for us and many others,

    The question is how many Terrain owners have moved up and will they be replaced?
