Fleet Of 2019 Cadillac CT6 Sedans Spied Testing

Just last week, we spotted the 2019 Cadillac CT6 for the first time in awhile, but today, the car was caught by the camera’s eye once again.

Spy photos show not one 2018 CT6 testing, but a fleet of them. However, some are more camouflaged than others. It could mean some are testing upcoming technologies, while the most heavily camouflaged car hides the actual design. The design itself will most likely take plenty of cues from the Cadillac Escala concept car. The concept vehicle showcased a horizontal headlight design, rather than the vertical units, and a mesh grille of sorts rather than the barred design currently in production on most Cadillac cars.

The 2019 CT6 seems to wear many of the show car’s elements, though familiar LED accent lighting looks to be in place below the headlights. When the refreshed CT6 does debut, expect it to boast the new Cadillac V8 engine, as confirmed by Cadillac boss Johan de Nysschen in the past.

Cadillac will roll out its first all-new product in years next year, the Cadillac XT4 crossover. Following the XT4, Cadillac will replace the ATS, XTS and CTS sedans with two new sedans, which will feature greater differentiation than the current sedans.

  1. Cadillac will now be just another clone AKA Audi and Porsche and Alfa.
Escala didn’t make my heart flutter. Hoping the technology does.

  2. I am not sure what Cadillac has planned for the 19 CT6 but it better be good. BMW and MB have refreshed or updated thier flagships, Lexus has a brand new LS and the next gen Audi A8 is being touted as the most technologically advanced automobile in the world by every auto journalist that has test drove it so far. Not to mention the attention the new Lincoln Continental and Genesis brand are getting. I think the current CT6 has Lincoln and Genesis covered but still several steps behind the big 3 German flagships.

Of course this still depends on what thier super secret(not a 4 door sedan) flagship is. Maybe they will still surprise us and bring out a extended wheelbase version of the CT6. Just hoping the flagship is not a crossover.

  3. The CT6 is a great car with some updates to make it even better.
The Chinese made “Plug in” should be unplugged.
The US consumer is not ready for Chinese Crap. We get enough substandard products from there.
Using Chinese slave labor does not help the US economy, only Barra’s bank account.
Someone has to stand up for production here.
Maybe Trump will institute his 35% tariff, then it will be a moot point.

  4. I read about this last night from another web-site that showed 13 pictures of these cars that were testing in Colorado .
This article claimed that even the CTS is getting a new face similar to the CT6 and also that there may be three engine choices for the CT6 , a TT 3.6 V6 , and another that I can’t recall plus the V8 would be offered only on the top trim level , Platinum .
If this is true I can see the V8 going for the top of the line car , however I would like to see the engine atleast offered on the lower trim levels too .

  5. The first thing they need to do is axe the almost never seen 2.0T model. When shelling out 55-60K for a large luxury car the last thing I want to hear is a Malibu grade cheap thrashy 4 banger underhood! Save that for China. Next is to completely redo the door panels with upgraded materials. The revamped Cue or whatever they are going to call it should also help. A price drop of about 5K is in order to across the CT6 line

    1. A price reduction on the “Standard” model would be good. Cadillac rises prices until the cars stop selling then backs off or gives rebates. Kind of backward. Instead of pricing the cars right in the first place, establishing the market, then raising prices.
Where we are, the RWD is never ordered.
I agree about the 2.0T, it is fine for most instances, but someone buying a Cadillac, would appreciate a bit more engine. The factory is always like a weight on a string Swings one way or another too far each way. They put a 1000HP corvette engine that gets 12 mpg going down hill. and wonder why no one wants it. They do not analyze their market. They make what they want and Screw you if you don’t.
      Sorry for being so harsh.

  6. In 2019 it will be up against the next generation Mercedes s Class which will rival super cruise as well. Mercedes have teamed up with Autoliv and Seeing Machines to create another level 3 offering with hands off driving with Seiing Machines eye and face tracking tech. Will Super Cruise still be better? I wouldn’t discount the Germans.

  7. Personally the features of Supercruise from the training I have seen that I am most afraid of, are: 1. Stopping in the middle of the lane on an expressway, and 2. Not reacting to obstacles in the road. Bambi Jumps in front of you, as it is Super Cruise will make Venison Sausage of it and the car. 3. Not reacting to someone cutting you off, Happened to me this morning.
