About Chevrolet SS
Introduced for the 2014 model year, the SS Performance Sedan was Chevrolet’s first rear-drive performance sedan since 1996. Sold only in the United States (and not available in Canada or Mexico), the SS sedan was positioned as a four-door Corvette.
Based on the Zeta platform shared with the Holden Commodore (and its variants) and the fifth-generation Chevrolet Camaro, the SS sedan was developed and produced by Holden. It is essentially a Holden Commodore SS with left-hand-drive and a few other minor changes. The SS’ sole powerplant was the 6.2L LS3 V-8 engine. A six-speed automatic transmission was available at launch. A six-speed manual became available for the 2015 model year.
Production of the Chevrolet SS Sedan ended at the GM-Holden Elizabeth factory in South Australia on May 25th, 2017. The plant will shut down in October 2017, thereby marking the discontinuation of other vehicles on GM’s Zeta platform, including the Holden Commodore, Ute, and Caprice.

Last gasp sales from the SS. R.I.P. SS and Holden Commodore
Add a supercharger and an exhaust system with an activated bypass.
Still makes a great sleeper.
Lots of fun!
Australia cut all tax breaks the whore auto companies have been enjoying for 20 years. CEOs had their $50 million a year bonuses and options wiped out. So these sluts decided to pull the plug. They had raped this country long enough. GM first then shitty Ford….each company lost $300 to $400 million yearly in tax breaks.
Wonder how many new SSes are left out there for sale.
A search on Autotrader shows 99 new SSes with manual transmission available in the country.

Sites like Autotrader and cars.com give you an idea of available inventory but apparently dealers have the ability to shield some or all of their stock from these non-manufacturer sites. When I was looking for a ’17 SS 6MT my dealer found several that weren’t on cars.com. 4008 is the 2017 production number according to the SS Forum, but actual numbers won’t be known for a while.
