“Top Gear America” is back, for better or worse, and this past week’s episode took a familiar formula from the original series for American audiences.
The series, which airs on BBC America, tackled the used-car challenge. The three presenters, William Fichtner, actor and racing enthusiast, Antron Brown, three-time NHRA Top Fuel Division world champion, and Tom Ford, a British automotive journalist, each was given $7,000 to purchase what they felt was the best bang-for-buck sports car.
Fichtner ends up in a Chevrolet C5 Corvette, Brown chooses a Ford Mustang, and Ford rolls up in a Subaru Impreza WRX. Of course, a drag race ensues.
You’ll have to head to Autoblog to check out the clip of the action, but bring it back here to tell us what you think of the latest series. Do you miss “Top Gear USA”? Are you a fan of “The Grand Tour“? Or has the original “Top Gear” finally found its footing again?
